5 True Love Quotes That You’ll Absolutely Love

Love…it’s a subject so complicated, they’ve made books about it, film and television, great music and art, all inspired of Love. For a person who’s never been in love, it is truly a difficult experience explaining what true love feels like.

Some believe it defies all description, that you can’t explain it – only feel it. Others equate being in love with finding their true purpose in life. Some people, actually most people, rearrange their entire lives once they find their perfect mate. They go onto have families, move away to build a home together, or they “sacrifice everything” just to be together.

How about you? What has been your experience with love? Is it something you found? Is it something you lost, or perhaps, have never experienced? Has it always been one-sided, or has it been a lie?

We all have many stories to tell, I’m sure. But one thing’s for certain. Once you meet a partner that you’re truly compatible with, it’s an AMAZING feeling! It’s not just lust and it’s not just “love”, or at least a respectable platonic love.

Meeting a man that you’re compatible with produces a strong chemical reaction, so much that your behavior immediately changes. You may shrink away from shyness…or you may swallow your fears and approach him, only to have a wonderful conversation that seems almost too good to be true. You feel attraction as well as a desire to get to know him on a deeper level. You both feel it and it soon consumes your thoughts.

At first, lust feels very much like love. In fact, science traces back levels of oxytocin as well as pheromone attraction to intense feelings of lust. We sense compatibility with a person and that becomes attraction. Love happens when that attraction becomes more intense because of a strong emotional bond. As the years pass, and we commit to a relationship, the emotional pull becomes so strong that we can’t bear to our partner. We invest so much time in each other, we build lives together. True love is the culmination of a relationship in which everything goes right!

Along with that thought, we’ve compiled five quotes about true love that I think you’re going to find very inspiring. They’re about what you feel when you find love and how it really is worth all the effort you have to put forth, in finding the (nearly) perfect man. It’s not always easy, but most people will agree, it’s always worth it in the end!

1. “You know you’re in love when you can’t fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.” ― Dr. Seuss

We always dream about the perfect lover when we’re young, don’t we? Usually these dreams or fantasies are based on experiences we desire.

The partner who offers you grand romance, amazing around-the-world honeymoons and the “escape” from the life you don’t want.

As we grow older, we discover that real love is not that perfect. It’s not a solution or an escape. It’s simply a positive and enjoyable relationship built on compatibility, on common goals, and a mutual attraction for each other.

When you finally fall in love, you no longer crave the fantasy or the escape. You want the reality because it’s real, it feels better than a selfish fantasy. It’s a relationship built on trust and sharing. That’s what real love feels like.

2. “Only once in your life, I truly believe, you find someone who can completely turn your world around. You tell them things that you’ve never shared with another soul and they absorb everything you say and actually want to hear more.” – Bob Marley

Bob and his three little birds touch on a good point. Love, that is real compatibility, is actually more challenging to find that lust. You can find many partners that are somewhat compatible, but only a select few whom you really connect with on an emotional level. You will indeed, feel drawn to that one man more than all the other handsome suitors. You’ll want to share everything with him, including things you’ve never told anyone before. It’s a thrill to meet someone who actually understands you and feels mutually attracted. Don’t underestimate how precious this connection is!

3. “Love has nothing to do with what you are expecting to get—only with what you are expecting to give—which is everything.” -Katharine Hepburn

One of the first things we learn as we mature is that love is not about getting what you want, but rather, what you can afford to give to a partner. So all of these fantasies about meeting the perfect mate, to get something you crave, or to “save you” from a life you despise, are false. True love is about loving someone enough to GIVE, to make his life easier, to give him your affection because loving him makes you happy. Likewise, he feels the same way about you and that’s what creates a healthy dynamic in your marriage.

4. “I love you, and I will love you until I die, and if there’s a life after that, I’ll love you then.” -Cassandra Clare, City of Glass

This is a beautiful quote, speaking of the subject none of us really love to think about — life after death and what becomes of love, after we leave this earth.

In the words of the author, love continues on even after death, onto the next life wherever that is. And it just so happens that many people do believe that true soulmates “find each other” in every life.

Well, none of us can really prove any of that…but it’s a wonderful thought to hold onto, that Love never ends. It continues on, forever, because once two soulmates find each other they never let go.

5. “Don’t be afraid to lose him, because if a man truly loves you, he’s not going anywhere.” -Steve Harvey

This is another quote, just as practical as the previous quote was beautiful. Too many women today worry about making mistakes or about losing a man because of saying the wrong thing or doing the wrong thing. But the truth is, if you project confidence and positivity, and there is true compatibility in the relationship, the attraction WILL grow.

Once a man is attracted to you, emotionally and physically, it’s very difficult for him to just forget that. He will pursue you, he will put forth an effort to get and keep your attention, so as long as you keep encouraging him. And if he really loves you, if he senses this mutual attraction, he’s NOT going to give up so easily. Guaranteed!

Don’t be afraid of love. It takes some learning to do it right, or at least to find the right partner. But once you’ve found him, and grown in maturity and wisdom, it really is the love of a lifetime and it feels spectacular!
