One of these on its own could be a busy week. Three or four together, for more than a week or two, usually means something has shifted.
- He texts less, and slower. Paragraphs turn into one-word answers.
- Plans get vague. “Let’s see this weekend” replaces a real date.
- He stops starting conversations. If you don’t text first, it’s quiet.
- The future disappears. No more talk about trips, holidays, or next month.

Why Men Pull Away
Most women assume he’s lost interest. Sometimes that’s true. Often it isn’t.
In my 13 years of coaching, I see four patterns over and over.
The Pressure Retreat. Things got serious, and he got scared. He steps back right after a step forward, like a trip, a big talk, or meeting family.
The Slow Fade. Nothing dramatic happened. Things got comfortable, his effort slipped, and the spark faded a little each week.
The Hot-and-Cold Cycler. Close, then distant, then close again. It’s happened before, and he seems to want you most when you pull back.
The Doubt Spiral. Something specific got in his head. A fight, stress at work, an ex showing up. He’s quiet because he’s sorting it out.
Each one needs a different response. What brings back a scared man can push away a bored one. That’s why the quiz matters.
What Not to Do When He Pulls Away
Most women react in one of three ways. I call them Connection Barriers, because each one makes the distance worse.
Chasing him. More texts, “are we okay?”, asking what’s wrong again and again. He feels the pressure and backs up further.
Going cold to punish him. Silence feels like strength. To a man who’s already drifting, it can look like the end.
Demanding answers. “We need to talk” usually gets you a vague answer and a worse week.

How Long Does It Last When a Man Pulls Away?
