What Kind of Man is Taurus?
Taurus is reliable and responsible. But his best qualities can also be his most glaring flaws. He is such a hard and devoted worker and because of this, he can be stubborn and unyielding. Not just some of the time either but all the time! He’s uncompromising in doing things his way, because his way has always worked for him.
For this reason, Taurus is not spontaneous. He doesn’t like sudden change or complications that threaten his routine. He’s also turned off by insecure women (since stability means everything to him) and can oftentimes be jealous and overbearing.
That said, there is a lot to like about Taurus. He’s successful in life. He’s dedicated, in work and in marriage, since he is “stubbornly in love”. He’s also a great friend and a great team player.
But you’re right in thinking that getting his attention is the hardest part.
How Do You Date Taurus?
Taurus is stubborn in love because it truly takes a journey to reach his heart. Taurus is a picky lover early on, a bit of a traveler and used to his routine. If he’s single that means he’s not the type to rush into a relationship. If he’s already in a relationship, getting his attention is next to impossible.
Right away, you know one thing about Taurus. He’s impressed with beauty. That means that looking your best, dressing well, and appealing to his “fine tastes” is very important. He might make you feel at ease immediately…but he’s not the type of guy that will be just as happy to see you without makeup or without dressing up nice.
He puts great emphasis on hard work and looking attractive, given his own life, and so tends to notice women who understand this. He’s also the type of guy who will notice the quality of your clothing, given that he’s usually a wealthy guy who buys brand name stuff.
When it comes to flirting, unfortunately, Taurus isn’t very subtle. He responds to women who encourage him to be flirty and a little forward. He doesn’t have the killer confidence of other signs, in that he can just walk right up to you and start flirting like a movie star. He doesn’t like rejection or embarrassment.
The first step, then, is to let him know that you like him, without any conflicting messages. Taurus is so defensive, and scared of spontaneity (which he probably associates with rejection and failure) that he sometimes prefers it if women make the first move.
Taurus likes specific compliments, not mindless flattery or “slutty” behavior that comes across as indiscriminate. He knows that he is a high value guy and wants to see that you know that and that you “match” him.
Patience Means Everything
Mister Taurus will be easy to intrigue, if you understand what attracts him. The true challenge will be in waiting for him and matching his own pace in the relationship. Taurus doesn’t like to rush into commitment. He certainly doesn’t like being pressured to do something he doesn’t want to do.
While you do have to work to get his attention, taking more aggressive actions later on, will only scare him away. It’s more of a balancing act with Taurus, since inaction turns him off, but taking too much action too soon also turns him off.
The secret is to pay close attention to him and to empathize with what he’s feeling. You have to sort of “sense” what he wants, but what also holds him back.
In any event, be patient and be prepared to commit to the idea of waiting for him to make up his mind. It’s quite possible that he’s not undecided about the relationship. He might know that he loves you, but he still needs time to plan for it, because he is not a spontaneous type of guy. A successful relationship requires planning, commitment and organization. That’s what Taurus does best.
What if Taurus Loses Interest?
It’s not out of the question that you might not pass one of Taurus’ tests. If this happens, don’t panic.
Remember what attracted him to you in the first place. Don’t be subtle. Make the first move on him again and remind him that you are faithful and reliable in a relationship – and that you understand how he thinks.
Be faithful to him in body and spirit. Don’t give him reason to distrust you by being overly friendly with other men, since it’s very unlike Taurus to be a Leo type of showman. If you both tend to be flirty with other people in general, that’s okay…but reassure him that when it comes to the heart, he is the only one that you truly desire.
Finally, here’s a secret weapon for getting Taurus’ attention. Since you know how much he fears venturing away from the routine, you can EASILY get his attention by changing one thing about your relationship with him, or about yourself.
Even a small change like getting a new hairstyle will throw Taurus for a loop. He might be unhappy at first, but it will get his attention. He will either feel provoked and will try to interact with you, or he will be more vulnerable for you to approach him and see if he’s still gaga over you. Usually the answer is yes!
