Saying goodnight is another way to say “I love you.” Of course, in early dating, that’s the one thing you do NOT want to say. So think of “Goodnight” as a pleasant in between of “I love you!” and “Hey I really enjoy talking to you.” Best of all, it’s one word.
The problem is everyone says goodnight. In fact, most people treat “goodnight” like it’s a chore, something you say to family members, or co-workers, or even your followers on Twitter.
That’s why if you like a guy, you’ve got to give him something sweet and memorable, in addition to the goodnight. He’ll pay close attention to your sweet sentiments and then the “goodnight” will be the emotional moment, the “kiss” right before you both go to sleep.
But what is sweet? What are you going for when you send a goodnight text to a guy you like? Maybe it’s your crush and you haven’t even gone out yet. In that case, it’s an even bigger challenge. You can have a good text conversation but then you have to close the conversation with a goodnight message. Maybe it will be the pep talk he needs to ask you out!

As you can see, there’s no secret to writing sweet goodnight messages. Just tell him something from the heart. Keep things upbeat and fun, funny if possible, but always with respect. When you write the “sweet” part of the message, you should focus on communicating your feelings about him. You’re not “in love with him”, but do want to reward him for the time he’s spent entertaining you. Men love to feel appreciated for what they do.
On the other hand, it’s also about showing your positive qualities. Try to make him realize that you’re not just any ordinary girl. You’re an extraordinary woman and you have eyes for him. When you talk, there’s a special connection. There’s a developing bond that’s much more intense than with anyone else. It’s about time he notices and takes action!
