- Kind is the whole list, honestly.
- Let’s skip the small talk and get to the good part.
- I remember what you tell me. It’s my best quality.

Headlines With a Bit of Confidence

What Makes a Headline Work
Specific beats general. “I love travel” says nothing. “Talk me out of moving to Portugal” is a door.
Give him a job. A question, a challenge, an opinion to disagree with. Men message profiles where they know what to say.
Short wins. Under ten words, ideally. Long headlines get skimmed past.
Sound like a person. Read it aloud. If you wouldn’t say it out loud, rewrite it.
What to Avoid
Lists of requirements. “No players, no games, must be over 6ft” reads as a wall, and the men you want most are the quickest to walk past it.
Anything about being tired of dating apps. Everyone is. Saying so just sets a flat tone.
Song lyrics and quotes. They tell him nothing about you and he’s seen them all.
Vagueness. “Just seeing what’s out there” is the single most common headline and the least effective.
Negativity, even joking. “Probably going to regret this” is self-deprecating in a way that reads as low confidence rather than charming.

How long should a dating profile headline be? Under ten words. Six is better.
Should I use emojis? One or two at most. More starts to look like clutter.
Do funny headlines work better than sincere ones? Both work. What fails is generic. Pick whichever sounds more like you.
Should I mention what I’m looking for? Briefly, if at all. Save it for the body of the profile.
How often should I change it? If you’re getting matches but no messages, change the headline. If you’re getting neither, change the photos first.
