8 Christian Dating Books

American Culture is rapidly changing in 2020. And even though this seems to be the age of “speak your mind and share your political/religious opinion,” some of us still believe in keeping a quiet dignity about private matters.

That said, I am honored to say that I do have many Christian readers and sometimes customize some content for that purpose. I’d like to think my blogs are universal, in that they speak to religious or non-religious people of every faith or viewpoint by finding things we can all agree on.

One of the things I hear a lot lately is Christian friends who feel alienated by a lot of current events happening today. The world is changing, the culture they knew is changing, and it can be difficult today. Especially in times of pandemics, protesting, recession, and the like.

They’re already distressed. Even worse, now they have to deal with all these difficult circumstances while still feeling lonely and single, still recovering from rejection, and still trying to keep their faith. They want to keep their hope alive of someday finding true love and having a good Christian family.

I also understand that sometimes you want to hear from a fellow Christian on matters of dating. It’s not only practical advice, but can also be faith-strengthening to get a biblical perspective of dating, and maybe even find some tie-in scriptures that relate to the issue.

So while I personally have not written a book on Christian dating at this time, I am more than happy to share eight books about Christian dating that I think you’re really going to enjoy.

These eight Christian dating books are well worth the read.

1. The Sacred Search: What If It’s Not about Who You Marry, But Why?

Author Gary Thomas asks the provocative question, “What if you’re not looking for a soul mate but a sole man – someone who will help you make wise decisions, and help you keep your faith in God strong? The author asks what if people started thinking about holiness rather than just happiness. This is a unique look into an often ignored idea in dating and even Christian books.

2. True Love Dates: Your Indispensable Guide to Finding the Love of Your Life

Author and counselor Debra Fileta encourages single people to take a new approach to their love lives, by making more faith-based decisions when dealing with dating. The concept is that healthy people make healthy decisions in relationships almost by default. When we enter into relationships with baggage or damaged perspectives, we sabotage ourselves. Making better decisions in dating honors not only God, but our future partner.

3. Love in Every Season: Understanding the Four Stages of Every Healthy Relationship

I like the seasonal approach to understanding love, and it turns out each season is the perfect metaphor for understanding how relationships progress and become more intimate over time. This book (also by Debra Fileta) is written for single, dating or even married people as a way to better intimacy in the relationship and remember the patterns of each season, as they relate to maintaining the love you have or want.

4. The Man God Has For You: 7 traits to Help You Determine Your Life Partner

What a great sentiment – that you shouldn’t get caught up in a relationship with a man that god never intended you to be with. It’s the hook for this book by Stephan Labossiere and approaches the subject of dating from the perspective of “7 traits” that help you determine whether he’s the man god picked for you. It also gives sound advice on how to heal from the past and put down walls that may prevent you from falling in love again.

5.  Things: What Every Guy Should Do and Every Girl Should Wait on Before Getting Married

Husband and wife team Ezekiel and Kiyanna Azonwu share their life and wisdom on marriage in a deeply personal and resonant book. With over 17 years of ministry experience, the couple adds a female and male perspective to understanding marriage, relationships, and the personal challenges that every individual must make before finding an idea partner. nd a better f

6. Passion and Purity: Learning to Bring Your Love Life Under Christ’s Control

If you’re more concerned with issues of sex and understanding how it changes a relationship, then read Passion and Purity by Elisabeth Elliot. She offers advice to anyone, of all ages, how to love passionately while still maintaining a clean Christian conscience. The author references her own life and that of her husband’s, Jim, on how they’ve dealt with these issues over the years. It’s nice to get both perspectives!

7. The Dating Manifesto: A Drama-Free Plan for Pursuing Marriage with Purpose

Author Lisa Anderson offers a challenge and not a feel-good book with a lot of empty hope. Instead, it’s a plan to chart a new course for your ideal future relationship. Anderson writes very well, having come from a background of radio and podcasting, The Boundless Show, and has also had her writing featured in newspapers. She speaks on not only love and relationships but also about how faith is intertwined with happiness.

8. For Women Only, Revised and Updated Edition: What You Need to Know About the Inner Lives of Men

Finally, you can’t go wrong with a book about men by women and for women’s eyes only! Author Shaunti Feldhahn’s bestseller reveals what women need to know about men, based on her research involving a number of studies. Find out why men make decisions based on parameters like respect, visual association, emotional sexual connection, and his role as provider. Fascinating read.

All of these books will provide many hours of great reading and all the more so if you’re Christian and want a more Christian-approach to issues of love, sex, and marriage. Remember that being “unevenly yoked” with someone who doesn’t believe can be a source of stress in your life. It’s always worth waiting, because when you take the time to find a good and godly match, you filter out the wrong type of relationships and focus more on what you want. The end result will be a relationship you custom built yourself…and one that lasts a lifetime.

The 5 Word Phrase That Destroys a Man’s Love For You And Drives Him Out Of Your Life

There’s a simple 5 word phrase that will destroy any man’s love for you and drive him out of your life completely…

It usually comes out as an honest question when you want to connect with him…

But only serves to push him away and slowly kill your relationship from the inside out…
