Don’t you just love the feeling after a great first date? You both had a good time. He seemed charming and intriguing – definitely attractive! You want to see him again but you also don’t want to come across as too forward or too desperate.

Perhaps intriguing is the most interesting quality. Intriguing means that your statements capture interest. They pique his curiosity. They’re not “about you”. They’re just interesting and fun to read. Now he wants to learn more about you.

- You always have the most thought provoking conversations. You’re fun to talk to.
- You seem to get me. I don’t feel like I have to explain myself when I’m around you. That’s comforting.
- Not to give you a big head or anything but I showed one of my friends your picture and said we were going out. And she got really jealous. So I feel special.
- You looked very handsome when we went out. I was impressed.
- I enjoyed our conversation so much I actually missed you when we said goodnight.
- I’m still smiling even twenty-four hours after the fact. Thanks for cheering me up.
- What’s your all time favorite dinner? Just randomly thinking about cooking something for you one day.
- You are an amazing man. I sense that about you. Don’t doubt yourself.
- I think we definitely knew each other in a past life. You seem weirdly familiar…and quite magnetic.
- Here’s an odd question. How about we just drop our plans this evening and go on a random date night?
- (After Sex) Damn why do you have such an interesting personality? Why couldn’t you just be a hot guy I could fool around with and forget?
- I enjoy getting to know you. Every time we talk I’m even more fascinated at your perspective.
- You challenge me. But in all the right ways.
- I really like your family too. I can see where you get your best qualities from.
- I’m bananas for you! Orange you glad to hear the honest truth?
- You seem like the kind of cool person I could do nothing with and really enjoy it.
- I wouldn’t say I love you more than chocolate…but chocolate is getting nervous!
- The fact that I actually spell check my messages before sending should tell you how I really feel about you.
- You want to know how I feel? My dog likes you! That says it all.
- You have a very soothing voice. The kind of voice I could fall asleep to, because you make me so calm and relaxed. You’re better than a bubble bath.
- You know what the sexiest part of your body is? Your smile!
- If this were an auction, I would bid ten grand on you and the room would applaud.
- You are like great music. Your voice is so pretty but I have to actually pay attention to what you say to grasp your deeper meanings. You’re a composition!
As you can see, texts that make him smile are all about the MOMENT. The great night you shared and nothing more. The secret is not to make him feel something but to enjoy your time together.
If you haven’t gone out yet, you can still approach this situation with the same goal. To make him smile and see you in a positive light. No stress, no commitment, nothing but intrigue and playfulness. That’s the kind of interaction a guy wants, especially over texting.
Even if it’s one text at a time, you can charm him with your confidence and creative mind. Making a man smile is about pleasing him, learning him, and sharing thoughts that make him feel good.
